Local Amenities of Callan
It can be stated unequivocally that there is no dearth
of sporting, social, academic, leisure and heritage outlets for people
living within the greater confines of the Parish of Callan. The area
is well served with over 30 organisations, clubs and societies.

Pubs: There are twelve very good pubs in the town. Many
of them provide entertainment on week-end nights.Many of them provide
food for their clients as well. Some provide full lunch menus, or some
provide light snacks. Many of the pubs are the focal point for charitable
fund-raising.
Two banks, BoI and AIB are open 10am - 4pm, Monday to
Friday (5pm on Thursday's). An A.T.M. cash dispenser is available at
the BoI in Green St in the town centre.
